5 Lockdown Activities To Keep You Entertained

Oct 06, 2020

While the whole world stays at home, people keep themselves preoccupied with lockdown activities.

Some people keep themselves busy and end up overworking, which affects their quality of life.

But this is only because they feel deprived of all the leisure going out can bring.

It’s been months since quarantine started and I’m sure some of you have discovered what you really like to do, but for those who haven’t, here are some ideas you can add to your to-do list right away.

Let’s get this party started:

1. WATCH A VIRTUAL MAGIC SHOW!

We’re all binge-watching on our favorite streaming services, but what better way is there to watch something with our family and loved ones than to be a part of the experience?

Like Moments of Magic by Encore! Guam, we make social distancing disappear and bring you closer through moments filled with laughter and awe.

Prepare to be amazed because this will be hosted by none other than Master Magician and Illusionist, Anthony Reed!

Get front-row seats with your family for an hour of magic and entertainment.

2. ROLE-PLAYING VIDEO GAMES

Another way to feel like you’re immersed in another world, is to play games.

Thanks to the development of technology, you can use VR (Virtual Reality) & AR (Augmented Reality) consoles to make it feel like you were really present in the game.

We specifically recommended RPGs (role-playing games) because they each have their own stories and adventure that allows you to travel in different places to complete missions.

Since we’re on the topic of magic some games you can try to play include Magic: Legends, Kingdom Hearts III Re:Mind and Final Fantasy VII Remake.

3. GET INTO A READING HABIT

Perhaps the easiest habit you can pick up during lockdown is reading.

Like video games, there are plenty of books to choose from to suit your interest.

The biggest difference is that you can get creative and imagine how you will visualize what’s going on in books.

In the topic of magic, you can’t go wrong with reading the Harry Potter collection or the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series to keep you entertained for months to come.

You can even create a reading activity where you take turns to tell the story before bedtime, or play the characters to bond with your family and kids.

4. LEARN A MAGIC TRICK (AND FILM IT!)

As we shared on our previous blog about Magic Shows, we showed you that creating content can help you from feeling bored or dissociated during lockdown.

You can watch online tutorials or read article guides about easy magic tricks that you can use to entertain yourself.

And while you’re at it, you can film it and post it on social media for everyone to share laughter and amazement with.

If you really want to get into character, you can even come up with a magician name and dress the part to make it feel more interesting for you.

If you’re looking for more ideas about magic tricks, stay tuned on our future blogs.

5. CREATE AN ARTS & CRAFTS PROJECT

Last but not least, you can turn off your screens and get creative with your hands.

Here are some quick ideas:

  • Drawing a Picture
  • Origami Figures
  • Painting your garden pots, doors or walls
  • Cooking a decorative dish
  • Organizing your room based on your aesthetic

As you can see, arts & crafts aren’t just projects involving stationery, it can be pretty much anything that keeps you making something.

Don’t stop till you find the perfect creative outlet!

CONCLUSION

These 5 lockdown activities are simple, yet we’re sure it will help you pass the time, while spending quality time with your loved ones.
